Listed below are some of the problems that can occur during the production process of BCME & can processing and the solution that Secomak can offer.
APPLICATION PROBLEM:
The BCME code of practice was written to clearly identify contractual obligations in the relationships between can makers and drinks producers. This was due to the disagreements that occurred when canned products would burst in storage due to corrosion of can underscores, leading to large scale product withdrawals. Therefore there are specific criteria that need to be met when processing cans to meet the BCME code.
Beverage producers are increasingly finding that dissolved salts found in process water become concentrated on cans as process water evaporates whilst in storage. These salt crystals affect a pressure build - up on the can and in the majority of cases cause the can tab to pop.
