At the supermarket, consumers tend not to select bottles with mis-aligned labels on the packaging. Therefore complete quality in product appearance is essential. The build up of moisture on bottles prior to passing through labeling devices, can lead to a variety of presentation problems. These problems include:
- Excess moisture returning to the glue pot causing foaming or dilution of glues. Therefore resulting in streaks of glue setting hard under the label in an unsightly way.
- The dilution of glue causing the tack off to take longer. Therefore resulting in labels being pushed out of alignment in mass flow areas, especially if there is no label protection panel.
- Miss-alignment or complete failure of the applicator head with pre-glued label applicators.
- Water marks and droplets showing on the bottled labels through clear substrate material.
